Information for Indiana
Commissioned by the Lilly Endowment, the IBRC and the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, in partnership with the Governor's office, has embarked on work to assess the quality of and obtain broader and deeper access to the data collected by the State of Indiana. The aim is to provide insight into technical challenges and opportunities involving the collection, interchange, management, transformation and dissemination of data needed for effective policy and decision making in Indiana. This work supports the work of businesses, economic developers, community organizations, government agencies and many others in our state whose aim is to improve the quality of the life and economy of the state and its communities.

Indiana's Daily Economic Digest
The Indiana Economic Digest is a daily compendium of news from Indiana's daily newspaper; we focus on topics hot for development—life sciences, expansions and closings, education, taxes and much more. This service provides instant access to the news behind the numbers. The story index is the power behind this site, which is brought to you by the Realtors of Indiana, the Indiana Business Research Center and the Hoosier State Press Association.

Indiana Properties Database
Released in 2006, the Indiana Properties database is available for site locators around the world to locate large available sites and buildings throughout Indiana. A key economic development tool, this service is developed and maintained by the Indiana Business Research Center in partnership with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the Indiana Economic Development Association. In 2007, a new site RFI tool has been developed for the IEDC that will allow for more dynamic interaction between developers and the state.

Indiana's Census 2010
This website provides information relevant to the communities and residents of Indiana as planning and implementation for the upcoming Census proceed. We will also inform Indiana stakeholders about Census 2010 endeavors throughout the state.

Strategic Skills Initiative
The Strategic Skills Initiative (SSI) addresses Indiana's critical job shortages and to increase opportunities and wages for Hoosier workers. Throughout the state, money has been awarded and solutions identified to encourage economic growth and better paying jobs in the state's 11 economic growth regions. Research and data essential to the development and completion of the Strategic Skills Initiative planning and grant documents are provided through a partnership of the Indiana Business Research Center, Workforce Associates, Inc., and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Indiana Data Center Program
The Indiana Data Center Program is a federal-state partnership between the U.S. Census Bureau and the State of Indiana. The Business and Industry Data Center portion of the program is managed by the IBRC, while the SDC program is lead by the Indiana State Library as part of a state-level collaboration with its coordinating agencies: the Indiana Business Research Center, the Indiana Geographic Information Council and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
This partnership was designed to provide demographic and economic statistics to all sectors of the community, including government agencies, businesses, academia, nonprofit organizations, and private citizens. STATS Indiana is a major provider of Census data. The IBRC was a founding partner in the program and also spearheaded the first pilot version of this now-nationwide program.

Unlocking Rural Competitiveness: The Role of Regional Clusters
The IBRC, in collaboration with the Purdue Center for Regional Development and SDG, Inc. conducted a wide-reaching study to address competitiveness and innovation in rural Indiana, analyzing rural economic clusters and their critical links to metropolitan regions. The study provides strong analytics and data combined with a case study approach that has yielded significant insights into future rural economic development. Support was provided by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, with contributions from the State of Indiana, the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Main Street Initiative for Central Indiana
The Main Street Initiative for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses is a new initiative of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and the Kelley School of Business–Indianapolis, with periodic analytical and statistical contributions by the IBRC. Small and mid-sized firms are the foundation of Central Indiana’s economy; more than 90 percent of the region’s businesses have 50 or fewer employees. By helping these companies succeed, the Kelley School of Business - Indianapolis is helping Central Indiana thrive.

Information Management Affiliates
The Information Management Affiliates program at the IU Kelley School of Business is a member-planned organization of faculty and business leaders. Its purpose is to share information and lessons learned about improving the use and management of information and information technologies. IMA holds periodic seminars on hot-button IS/IT topics. The IBRC provides administrative and technical support.
