Michael has analyzed a wide range of data for research projects, articles, and presentations since joining the Indiana Business Research Center in June 2007. He uses econometric techniques such as multiple regression and applied longitudinal data analysis to determine socioeconomic patterns and forecast workforce trends. Michael collaborates regularly with IBRC clients, particularly the Indiana Department of Workforce Development where he previously served as a Governor’s Summer Intern.

Michael is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at Indiana University where he earned his master’s degree and has taught courses in sociology and applied statistical research since 2004.

Though born in New York, Michael lived in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago until he returned to the United States for college at Yale University. He then served as a ‘welfare-to-work’ employment specialist for the City of New York, Department of Parks and Recreation from 2000 to 2002 and as a research officer for the Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad & Tobago (TIDCO) in 2003.

Michael enjoys swimming and listening to music from across the globe. He lives in Bloomington with his wife Laila Amine who is a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Literature and American Studies.
